Payment providers in EU countries outside the euro area must offer euro instant transfers and the free name/IBAN check (Verification of Payee) from July 2027, completing the roll-out across the EU.
Who is affected
Banks and payment institutions in non-euro Member States; businesses in Poland, Sweden, Czechia, Hungary, Denmark, Romania and Bulgaria paying or receiving euros.
Sizes: micro, small, medium, large · Sectors: All sectors · Applies if: We invoice other businesses (B2B); We sell online
What to do
Businesses in non-euro countries: align supplier and customer master data (legal names vs account holders) ahead of the VoP switch-on to avoid rejected or delayed euro payments; ask your bank about its timetable.
Banks and payment institutions directly; every business that pays or gets paid by bank transfer is affected because payments with a name/IBAN mismatch now trigger warnings and may be delayed.
