Plastic packaging must contain minimum shares of post-consumer recycled plastic (10-35% depending on type), all packaging must be recyclable by design, and listed single-use formats (e.g. small hotel toiletries, plastic packaging for unprocessed fruit and vegetables under 1.5 kg, single-portion condiment sachets in HoReCa) are prohibited.

What to do
Ask packaging suppliers for recycled-content certificates and recyclability grades now; redesign or switch formats that will be banned. Build packaging data (weight, material, recycled share) into your product master data for future reporting.
Anyone who places packaged products on the EU market: manufacturers, importers, distributors, online sellers and fulfilment providers, regardless of size.
