European Accessibility Act: end of transition for legacy service contracts and self-service terminals

1390 days from today

What changes

Service contracts concluded before 28 June 2025 may run unchanged until 28 June 2030, and products lawfully used to deliver a service before that date (e.g. payment or ticketing terminals) may keep being used until then, or up to 20 years for self-service terminals. After this date everything in use must be accessible.

Who is affected

Small, medium and large service providers still relying on pre-2025 contracts or legacy terminals; microenterprise service providers remain exempt.

Sizes: small, medium, large · Sectors: E-commerce, Retail, Finance / insurance, Transport / logistics, Hospitality / tourism, Media / marketing · Applies if: We sell to consumers (B2C); We sell online

What to do

List service contracts and terminals that predate June 2025. Plan replacements or upgrades so all customer-facing services and equipment are accessible by mid-2030. Include accessibility clauses in every renewal.
